Weekend Day:
This weekend I visited my grandmother, cousin, and aunt in a small town in Connecticut. I went with my brother and my father and we spent the weekend sleeping, walking, relaxing, and having fun. On Sunday I woke up at eleven. However, because of Daylight Savings, it was actually noon. I got out of bed, brushed my teeth, and got dressed. By then, it was one o'clock. I took a walk to a pond with my father and we saw geese flying in the sky. We got back by to my grandma's house by two. Then I took my brother and my cousin into town. We went shopping in the small stores and ate lunch. We returned home by four o'clock. I finished my homework and at five my brother, father, and I got in the car and returned to Vermont. We arrived home by seven and I quickly rushed to my Switzerland Exchange meeting. We overviewed our trip to Paris and Geneva in April and it got me very excited. I was home by nine o'clock and in bed by nine thirty. I read a book that I have to read for class until I fell asleep which was only about ten o'clock!

School Day:
Today was Monday. Mondays usually seem to be the longest day because there are four more days left in the week. However, we only have half a day on Thursday and no school on Friday so the day went by kind of quickly. I woke up at six o'clock to the sound of my alarm. I got out of bed, took a long hot shower and got dressed. I ate breakfast with my brother and finished up the rest of my homework. We left for school at seven and stopped to get coffee on the way. School starts at 7:45. My first class is a rigorous writing class called The Writing Experience. We wrote for about a half and hour and discussed a peer's essay. It was difficult to try and critique another person's writing. My next class started at 9:30 and was advanced French. We had a low key day and discussed the differences between art from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. My last class of the day was sociology and it started at 11:00. We watched a movie about the different militaries around the world and how they teach the young soldiers how to fight and kill. After school I went to the bank to deposit my paycheck, and then I went home to work on homework until 3:30. Then I went to work at my gift and office supply store until 7:00. When I got home I finished my homework, watched TV with my family and went to bed at 9:00. I was very tired and the most pleasant part of the day was getting some sleep!

SUNDAY MARCH 11th 2007

6:20 AM
Gooood Morning! I woke up, after sleeping over at a friends house for the night.
I gathered my bags and
left early before everyone else woke because I had to get home to
leave for Church in Massachussetts.

7-9 AM
I unpacked my bags, cleaned up and ate breakfast that my Mom
always makes on Sundays.

10:00 AM
I left with my Dad for Greenfield to the Zion Korean Church. I
finished up some reading
that I should've done for today in the car! I also reviewed my memory verses.

11:00 AM
After the welcoming sermon while sitting in the back with the
babies I went to the classrooms.

12 PM
I helped lead a class with 2nd graders on the topic of standing
up for one's beliefs. I recorded attendence, message, theme and songs
sung in the record book of the Church.

1:00 PM
I must've had 10 donuts by now. Today was a little boy,
Benjamin's 4th Birthday. His parents brought cake, fruit and party
bags filled with toys and candy for the rest of the kids. I actually
took one too...

2:00 PM
Usually around this time the older students have a youth Bible
study together. We further planned and discussed our mission trip
this summer, and our NYC and Boston trips this and next months.

3:00 PM
I was still in Massachussetts at this time. We planned to throw
a pizza and movie get-together for this Friday for the younger kids.

4-6 PM
I can't remember what I did...I returned home and ate some
dinner. I think I went online to reply to a few friends that I met
last Summer through email.

7 PM
I left my house to go to a Swiss Exchange orientation meeting at school.

8 PM
In the meeting, we went over lists of items that we might need in
Europe, fundraising ideas, plane scheduling, Paris and future meeting
information.

9 PM
I got home a little before 9. I notified my Mom about some
papers that needed to be signed by next week.

10 PM
Now here I am writing this!! It's 10:38 PM...I'll hopefully go to bed soon.

Sunday:
I generally wake up between nine and eleven o’clock. I take a shower and brush my teeth. Sunday mornings are usually the time when I do my homework. I also usually play tennis or go to the gym. I don’t eat breakfast, so I have lunch between twelve and one. During the afternoon I am either at home finishing my homework, or out doing something with my friends. I come home and eat dinner around seven, and then I watch TV and go to bed around eleven.

Monday:

I wake up at 6:45 each morning. I get up and take a shower, brush my teeth, and get dressed. I leave the house for school at 7:15, and I drive 25 minutes to get to school. My first class, English, starts at 7:45 and ends at 9:10. After English I go to advisory for 15 minutes. Then French class starts at 9:35 and goes until 10:50. My next class is Math, which is from 10:55 until 12:20. After math my friends and I go out to lunch. We go to different restaurants everyday. After lunch we come back top school for our last class, physics. Physics ends at 2:20. After school I many different things. Some days I work at a local store, I play tennis, I hang out with friends, go to the gym, and sometime just go home after school. My family and I eat dinner around seven, and then I do my homework and watch TV after dinner. I go to bed around eleven.

Pleasurable Things, Difficult Things:

Monday: Watching 24, waking up in the morning
Tuesday: Playing tennis with friends, working after school
Wednesday: Hanging out with friends, taking out the trash
Thursday: Seeing my Dad, taking tests
Friday: Going out at night with friends, getting through school
Saturday: sleeping in late, doing laundry
Sunday: watching sports with friends, doing homework and cleaning

MONDAY MARCH 12, 2007

SCHOOL:

6:00-7:25 AM
I woke up, brushed my teeth, got dressed, ate breakfast and packed my
bags. I left for school at 7:25 AM.

7:45 AM
School starts at this time. I have Advanced English III with Beneth
Sauer. Today we didn't have a formal class. Many classrooms have
been moving into another hallway. So everyone helped move desks,
chairs and books into our new room.

9:10 AM
English is over, so now I'm heading over to advisory. This is where
announcements are held. It goes on for 10 minutes.

9:24 AM
After advisory, I head to my locker to pick up my French binders for
my next class.

~9:30 AM
French class starts off with discussion on a group of Algerian
superintendents from Algeria coming to BUHS on the 27th of March. One
visitor will observe and come to class with me and another French
student's Sociology class before lunch.

10:30 AM
French class is almost over. We are viewing pictures of either in the
Middle Age or Renaissance time period. In small groups or pairs,
after viewing the image we decide on which time period we think it is
from. We then chose one person from our group to explain our
reasoning for our conclusion to the class.

12 PM
I'm in my third block class right now. I have Sociology with Mr.
Kroc. Because I was absent last Friday due to a CLEA Conference, a
few other students and I had to go to a separate room to watch a movie
that we missed. It was about how soldiers training for war are in
many ways brainwashed to believe certain ideas about killing and
murdering.

1:00 PM
I'm in CVC (Communication via Computers) now. CVC teaches you
advanced ways in which computer operations can be used. My teacher
was absent for a week last week, so everyone was catching up on work
that they needed help with. I worked on my typing on a program called
"Cortez". I then printed out a Thank You card for Warner Thomas, who
was a guest speaker last month about how his hospital handled the
Hurricane Katrina Crisis.

2:00 PM
School is almost over. It ends at 2:20 every day.

2:30-3:00 PM
Every Monday, I have a CLEA meeting for about a half hour. CLEA is
Child Labor Education and Action. The group has been working very
hard, and is working on passing bills through the legislation to
improve the conditions and enforce the rights of child laborors and
workers in general.

4:00 PM
I'm home now, unpacking my books and greeting my dog-who is pregnant!
I'll usually start on homework at this time.

5:00 PM
I took a shower & brought some clean laundry up. Then I had some soup.

6:00 PM
I'm continuing with my homework. I'm looking at my course selections
that I've already written down for next year.

7:00-10 PM
I'll eat dinner, usually korean food. I'll finish my English homework
reading in Lord of the Flies, reading questions and vocabulary. I'll
finish my French homework, and my Sociology homework. Then I'll look
over some notes for my CVC quiz tommorow. When I'm finished with
everything, I'll start to think and plan for ideas for Sunday's lesson
to the youth group.

***Most pleasant moment:
Today one of my teachers bought 7 dozen donuts into school for all her
students.
I had a rainbow sprinkle donut- It made my day!
***Least pleasant moment:
Hmm..today was pretty good, but the movie I started watching in
Sociology made me more skeptical of the US Army. The way in which
many of the sargeants spoke of the men and women was extremely
downgrading. The soldiers must go through complete reversal of their
way of thinking about life.

My Day Journal Sunday:

9:00; I wake up at nine thinking its actually eight-o-clock. I eat cereal for breakfast, get ready to leave the house and then I head off to my Viennese Waltz rehearsal. To get to the school of dance I walk eight and a half blocks through town.

10:00; When I arrive at the dance studio, everyone has started rehearsing without me. I then realize that I forgot to change my clocks, since daylight savings time is so much earlier this year. My teacher understands however, and I jump right into rehearsal.

11:00; We keep rehearsing until 11:30, which is when the tap dancers come in. Afterwards I hang out at the studio with my friend Oliver, and another guy from the dance Davie.

12:00; I hang out with them until about 12:30, at which point I first go to boomerang to pick up some money from clothes I sold there, go to the bank, then go grocery shopping. Walking home with the groceries, I talk to my friend Maeve on my cell-phone.

1:00; Sometime a little after this I get home. I proceed to make myself some lunch of bread, milk and an apple. I then go up and clean my room.

2:00; While I’m cleaning my room my friend Maddie calls me. We talk for a while, but then she has to go to work. I finish with my room, then take a shower. When I get out I put on my pajamas.

3:00; Mental Floss magazine occupies me for an entire hour.

4:00; I decide to cook the chicken thighs we have in the fridge. There are four so I figure two for dinner and then two for lunch next week. I also make myself Thai noodles and broccoli. The weather’s been nice so I figure I’ll grill the chicken, it turns out my neighbor Ladd had the same idea.

5:00; As I’m cooking dinner, my mother calls from France. She asks me how things are going, and I say fine, and apparently things are going well on her business trip as well. Soon after that I finish cooking dinner, and as I eat I watch “eight men out”.

6:00; While I’m eating my friend Steven comes in to get some of his food. He stays at the house sometimes when my mother is away, it makes her feel better. The chicken was his, so it looks like I’m going to have to figure something else out for my school lunches. We talk for a little bit, and then he leaves. I start washing the dishes after that.

7:00; while I’m cleaning the kitchen my friend Cal calls me. At around 7:40 I stop talking to him, and cleaning. I think for a while, then remember I have homework to do.

8:00; I’m doing my homework.

9:00: I brush my teeth, change my clock and then go to bed.
Monday:

7:00; get up, wash my face, put on my clothes, eat cereal, and generally get ready for school. Get a ride from my neighbor and go to English class.

8:00; In English class we help our teacher move to a new classroom, and we eat donuts that she brings to us. It was lots of fun.

9:00; I go to advisory and then to French class one of the classes that is the most fun. There we talk about the renaissance.

10:00; we’re talking about our Algerian visitors in French class

11:00; I go to Interactive Math Program class, which is really painful. We try to figure out the probability of some guy named Scott picking a purple spoon out of a bag.

12:00; Math class finishes, then I go to lunch in the cafeteria, a half hour. I sit with my friends Maddie, and Sylvianna.

1:00; I go to Chemistry with Mr. Shungu, our teacher from the Congo, who is a French speaker.

2:00; School ends at about 2:20 and then I leave and take the bus to town. At Mocha Joe’s I meet with my friends Alec, Marty, Oliver, Jonquil, Evan and Genna so that we can go to the radio station.

3:00; After a while at the coffee shop, we leave for the station to prepare to host the show.

4:00; At the radio station I train I train Marty, Evan, and Oliver how to be DJ’s, and host the news show we usually do at this time. We play a lot of good music.

5:00; We have an editorial meeting to decide what will happen on the next show. Then we all head in our own directions.

6:00; I go over to the theatre to talk with Stephen the director about not being able to be in a play. I then to Sandy about a Mentor meeting I missed.

7:00; Stefano drops by the theatre and invites me out to dinner. We go to the Slow Fire Grill a Mexican place, and I have Taco’s with beans and rice. While we’re there we bump into Rich Garrant, Stefano’s friend.

8:00; We finish up dinner and then head home. I call my friend Lee to talk about a project we have to work on. Tuesday is when we’re going to get it finished.

9:00; I start on my homework, and try to get it finished.

10:00: Stefano and I have tea, then I get ready for bed while he watches T.V. I go to sleep.

The most pleasant moment of my day was going for a run outside because the weather was very nice; it was warm and sunny.

The most difficult moment of my day was trying to finish all my homework because I have a lot of it.

I wanted to tell you that's great knowing to play guitar! If you're a boy, it's funny to know you can make meringues...
I suppose you love rock music, it's great, what groups do you prefer? Running on a a treadmill seems really difficult, you should run in a park with your friend, it will be less hard. Hope you did well your French homework.
What's the book you're writing? On what movie did you work?

"The West Wing" is a tv series about a President of the United States and his staff. It's very liberal. It's mostly a drama, but it is also very funny in my opinion.

To Kim—
I love the guitar, and I love all kinds of music. I like old bands like The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Deep Purple, Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, and The Clash. I also like some newer bands such as Modest Mouse, Oranger, The White Stripes. I’m not good at cooking—I can only make meringues! Running on a treadmill can be hard—it’s really boring. But sometimes it’s too cold for me to run outside. The book I’m writing is a novel for my independent study at school, and I’m making a movie about the environment.

To Virgile—
I have played the guitar for only a few years. I play in a band with my friends. I listen to all sorts of music, but I especially like rock and blues. My favorite band is Phish, and my favorite guitarists are Jimi Hendrix, Trey Anastasio, and Jack White.

To Armand—
My favorite bands are the White Stripes, Led Zeppelin, Phish, and the Beatles.

Thanks for the questions, everybody.
